Allcurrentengineoilsarecompatiblewitheachother,i.e.whenmakinganoilchangeitisnotnecessarytoflushtheengineifyouwishtouseadifferentbrandorgradeofoil.Since,however,eachbrandofoilhasaspecialcomposition,
youshould,ifpossible,usethesameoilbrandifitbecomesnecessarytotopupbetweenoilchanges.
Porscheengineshavelongintervalsbetweenoilchanges.Youcanmakebestuseoftheselongoilchangeintervalsbyusingmultigradeoilssincethesearelargelyindependentofseasonalfluctuationsintemperature.
Ifyourvehicleisusedfrequentlyinstop-and-gotrafficincoldweather,theenginewillnotalwaysbecompletelywarmedup.Condensationfromproductsofcombustionmayaccumulateintheoil.Inthiscase,itisadvisabletochangetheoilmorefrequentlysothatyourengineonceagainhas100%efficientoil.
